Climate Justice Statement

Please carefully read below.

Less than a week ago I started the new endeavor that is the Sustaining with Shana podcast and platform. One thing I want to make inextricably clear is this platform will never promote and was never intended to promote racism and white supremacy. Especially, especially when it comes to sustainability and climate change! This platform is designed to not only educate each other about climate change and sustainability but also understand that these issues look different for people who are white compared to people who are BIPOC (black, indigenous people of color). In order to come together to address climate change and sustainability we must understand the relation they have directly to people of color. BIPOC communities are on the frontlines of climate change. This includes but not limited to living next to oil and gas refineries where they actively pollute their air and water to the manufactured Flint Water Crisis.
