Sustaining with Shana highlights the unique stories of people making our world a little more sustainable. By celebrating our community we can help to bridge the gap between local and international sustainability endeavors.
"This podcast is a place where people can share the love of the land. People like a seventh generation mennonite farmer in Kutztown, PA sharing his family's farming techniques to a Dominican abuela living in Reading, PA sharing the story of the beauty of her homeland."
Shana has been working as Reading for 100’s Berks County Outreach Coordinator organizing and building coalitions with other organizations to develop similar clean energy coalitions in other parts of the county.
As a 2016 Environmental Geography/Psychology graduate of Kutztown University (KU), she has been working with her alma mater and stakeholders to foster a university wide sustainability initiative. Shana was recently appointed to represent KU on the newly formed PASSHE Climate Action Task Force.
Shana attended the 2017 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) or COP23 in Bonn, Germany as a delegate of the American Association of Geographers (AAG) and the Republic of Liberia. In December 2019, she attended COP25 in Madrid, Spain as a delegate of the Christian Climate Observers Program (CCOP).
Sustaining with Shana was developed to share her experiences and love of sustainability with others.
