Episode 002: Starting a Sustainable Business

On this episode, Shana shares more about her personal journey that led her to create the Sustaining with Shana podcast and platform, as well as interviewing her first guest. Shana sits down with Jacquelyn Bassett, co-owner and founder of FD Market, a sustainable everyday goods shop in the heart of downtown Emmaus, PA. FD Market is a sustainable small business in the Lehigh Valley.

Jackies shares that she has a deep sense of community, and aims to provide practical sustainability resources to those around her. She also shares about her connection with nature and how it drives her passion for sustainable living. That passion inspires her vision to make sustainable living accessible to everyone.

Her small, women-owned business recently opened in December 2019, and is the only shop of its kind in the area. Shana and Jackie discuss the story behind how she started FD Market and the services that the market currently offers to its customers.
